Department of Health Policy & Management

The Health Management and Policy Department was established in 2003 by the efforts of Dr. Reza Gholi Vahidi and in accordance with the needs of the society by recruiting undergraduates in the field of health services management within the Department of Public Health and Management in the Faculty of Health and Nutrition.
Following the provision of necessary facilities, increasing full-time faculty, and the needs of the health system in 2009, the admission of students to the Master's degree in Health Services Management began, and the department was changed from separate management and public health to the Department of Health Services Management.
With the increase in the recruitment of professors and the capacities of the department, the necessary arrangements were made to launch a specialized doctoral degree in health services management, and finally in 2011, this department accepted the first specialized doctoral course, and currently this department is engaged in training specialized and efficient human resources at the undergraduate, master's, and doctorate levels. It is added that the establishment of master's degrees in health economics and doctorate in health policy and health economics in 2014. And the PhD in Health Economics was approved by the Ministry of Health's Development Council in 2018.
Also, based on the resolution of the Ministry of Health Development Council in 2011, this group was separated from the Public Health and Management Department of the School of Health and Nutrition and was separated in 2012 with the formation of the School of Management and Information from the School of Health and Nutrition.
In 2018, with the formation of the Health Economics Department, the Master's and Doctoral programs in Health Economics were separated from the group.
It is worth noting that the Management Department has been selected as the scientific educational hub of Iranian health management since 2012.
 
And currently, this group, with 13 faculty members and 2 experts, is engaged in activities in the three areas of Education, Research, and Service.

Health and medical services management at bachelor's - master's - doctorate levels
Health policy making at doctorate levels
Health in social welfare at master's level1402

MPH course (Management and reforms in the health system - crisis and disaster management, accidents and emergencies)
Also, measures have been taken and are being considered to create future fields in the health system at doctorate levels, entrepreneurship in the health system at master's level, quality in the health system at master's level.
Research area: (Research)
Holding advanced educational workshops and educational meetings and webinars by experienced professors inside and outside the country, at least 10 workshops per year
Inviting prominent foreign professors to teach or hold scientific workshops
Producing and publishing scientific books in the field of health management and related sciences, at least 5 volumes per year
Printing Persian and English articles in domestic journals in the field of health management and related sciences, at least 50 volumes per year
Printing English articles (ISI) in the field of health management and related sciences, at least 30 per year
Concluding cooperation agreements with executive fields, applied research projects and industry relations (at least 10 per year)
Revising the educational curriculum annually for 1 level
Designing educational curricula for new fields annually
Holding national and international conferences and seminars annually
Creating National Health Management Hub Network to establish connections with all relevant educational groups and graduates by the end of 1405
Attracting domestic and foreign grants annually, at least 3 grants
Strengthening the Hub website for extensive and online communication with all visitors to the site by the end of 1405
Organizing management mornings for students and graduates of various fields, at least 21 mornings in 1401, 1402, and 1403
