The Medical Library and Information Department began its educational and research activities in 1994 with the efforts of Ms. Akrami as the first director of the Medical Library and Information Department at the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, by accepting students at the undergraduate level on a daily basis in the 1974-75 academic year, and subsequently, from 1990, it began accepting students at the undergraduate level on an evening basis. The admission of students at the master's level of this field began every other year in 1984, and it continued to accept students in this manner until 1989. From 1991 onwards, with the strengthening of the scientific strength of this educational department and the increase in the admission capacity from 4 to 8 people, the admission of students was carried out annually.
 Since 1988, following the Ministry of Health's policy of increasing the capacity of postgraduate education, the admission of students at the undergraduate level of this field was eliminated and the activities of the educational department were focused on postgraduate education
